Cake Smash Studio Shoot- Melbourne, Florida- Tamsin Photography

There are kids who smash cakes, and then there are kids who SMASH cakes. I had the pleasure of working with one such little girl recently in celebration of her 2nd birthday. I designed a purple and gold sparkle scene with LOTS of glitter and prepared for a cute little princess smash in my studio. Little did I know what a big personality was packed into this sweet little girl, but as the smash began it became obvious that this would not be a normal smash. This one would be the stuff that cake smash legends are made of.

The Portraits

I always begin milestone smashes with some sweet and simple portraits in the scene pre-cake. Ariya was adorable and so calm and sweet as she smiled and posed for the camera.

Then we mentioned the cake and she got a little excited...

Then, she saw her cake and got REALLY excited...

The Smash

What Ariya did next was so adorable. I will let the pictures tell the story of how this smash unfolded, from licking the cake, to hugging the cake, to face planting in the cake, to tearing off her dress and growling to defend her cake from anyone who tried to come too close- this smash was too funny for words and a picture is worth a thousand- so here you go!
